A film portrait of Mr. William Hutcherson and his collection of life-sized big cat sculptures displayed on his front lawn in Muncie IN. Hutcherson is a black man, a Vietnam war veteran, and a poet. His collection has been the subject of local fascination and vandalism. The cat sculptures are beautiful, large, and well-maintained with lights to illuminate them at night and plaques with names of living and deceased relatives and friends. Hutcherson collection blurs familiar boundaries between public and private, personal and common, yard art and memorial and evokes themes of love, creativity, community, war, and death.
